Vitabiotics Wellwoman Gummies Review UK (2026): Doses & Verdict

Vitabiotics Wellwoman is one of the most recognisable women's multivitamins in the UK, and it has been on pharmacy shelves for decades. The range now includes a chewable version, Wellwoman Gummies, alongside the original one a day capsule. If you are searching for a Wellwoman gummies review, this guide covers what is on the label, how the gummies compare with Wellwoman Original, and who each one suits.

The short answer: Wellwoman Gummies are a well designed, vegan friendly women's multivitamin with sensible doses, including 10µg of vitamin D and 400µg of folic acid per daily serving. The trade offs are that you need three gummies a day, several minerals (iron, zinc, copper, iodine) sit well below 100% NRV, and they contain sugar. If you want higher mineral levels and do not mind swallowing a capsule, Wellwoman Original carries more.

What Is Vitabiotics Wellwoman?

Wellwoman is Vitabiotics' women's health range. The core products are Wellwoman Original, a one a day capsule, and Wellwoman Gummies, a berry flavoured chewable taken as three gummies a day with your main meal. Both list the same daily amounts of vitamin D (10µg) and folic acid (400µg), and both add evening primrose oil and starflower oil, which are typical of the Wellwoman range. Vitabiotics notes that each product replaces other Wellwoman multivitamins, so you should take one or the other, not both.

Wellwoman Gummies provide 18 vitamins and minerals per three gummy serving, plus betacarotene, citrus bioflavonoids, evening primrose oil and starflower oil. They are made with fruit pectin rather than gelatine and are labelled vegan friendly.

What Is Good About Wellwoman Gummies?

Quite a lot, and it is worth being clear about that.

Vegan friendly format. The gummies use fruit pectin as the gelling agent and vegan vitamin D3, and Vitabiotics labels them vegan friendly. That is a genuine advantage over the Original capsule, which has a bovine gelatine shell.

Vitamin D at the NHS guideline amount. Three gummies provide 10µg (400 IU, 200% NRV), which matches the NHS advice that adults in the UK should consider 10µg a day in autumn and winter. Vitamin D contributes to the maintenance of normal bones and to the normal function of the immune system.

Folic acid at 400µg. This is 200% NRV and matches the amount the NHS recommends when trying for a baby and in the first 12 weeks of pregnancy. Folate contributes to normal maternal tissue growth during pregnancy. That said, anyone pregnant or planning a pregnancy should check with a pharmacist which product suits them; Vitabiotics advises speaking to a doctor or pharmacist first.

Women focused B vitamins. Vitamin B6 contributes to the regulation of hormonal activity, and vitamins B6 and B12 contribute to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue. B12 is provided at 10µg (400% NRV).

Thoughtful extras. Vitabiotics states there are no artificial colours, flavours or sweeteners, the colour comes from black carrot juice concentrate, and it says the gummies have 37% less sugar than a typical full glucose sugar gummy. Wellwoman is also stocked in most UK pharmacies and supermarkets, so it is easy to find.

What Are the Limitations?

Three gummies a day. The listed doses are for three gummies. One gummy alone gives roughly a third of each amount, so the serving matters if you are comparing labels.

Lower minerals than the capsule. Like most gummies, they carry less mineral content than a capsule. Iron, zinc and copper each sit at 25% NRV (iron is 3.5mg), and iodine at 33%. That is fine as a top up alongside a balanced diet, but it is noticeably lower than Wellwoman Original, which provides 12mg of iron (86% NRV) and 12mg of zinc (120% NRV). Magnesium and manganese are not included in the gummies at all.

Contains sugar. The ingredients include sugar and wheat glucose syrup. Vitabiotics does not give a per gummy sugar figure on its product page, so if sugar matters to you, check the pack. The wheat glucose syrup is also worth knowing about if you avoid wheat.

Smaller amounts of the extras. Evening primrose and starflower oil are each 30mg per three gummies, compared with 100mg each in a single Original capsule.

Do Wellwoman Gummies Actually Work?

For what they are designed to do, yes, with realistic expectations. A multivitamin tops up your intake of nutrients your diet may be short on; it is not a quick fix. The approved claims on the Wellwoman label relate to energy release, hormonal activity and the immune system, and they apply because the product contains meaningful amounts of B6, B12, vitamin C, vitamin D, folic acid and copper. If your diet is already varied, you may not notice a dramatic difference, though vitamin D is one nutrient the NHS advises everyone in the UK to consider supplementing in autumn and winter. If you are struggling with persistent tiredness, speak to a GP, as it can have causes a multivitamin will not address.

Wellwoman Gummies vs a Gummy Pouch: Which Makes Sense?

If you want a classic women's multivitamin with folic acid, moderate iron and evening primrose oil, Wellwoman is a sensible, focused choice, and the gummies make it vegan friendly.

GUUDIES takes a different approach. Instead of one multivitamin, a daily pouch holds six different gummies: Daily Greens+ multivitamin, Marine Collagen with biotin, Sea Moss, Apple Cider Vinegar, a five mushroom blend and a Metabolic gummy with saffron. The Daily Greens+ gummy provides 20µg of vitamin D3. To be clear, our Marine Collagen gummy is made with fish collagen, so it is not suitable for vegans, vegetarians or anyone with a fish allergy; the other five gummies are vegan. The Daily Greens+ gummy also contains vitamin A as retinol, so if you are pregnant, speak to a pharmacist before taking it. See what is in a GUUDIES pouch.

Common Questions

Are Vitabiotics Wellwoman gummies any good?
Yes. They are a well formulated, vegan friendly women's multivitamin from an established UK brand, with vitamin D and folic acid at 200% NRV. The trade offs are the three gummy serving, lower mineral levels than the capsule and the sugar content.

Are Wellwoman gummies vegan?
Yes. The current gummies use fruit pectin rather than gelatine and are labelled vegan friendly. Wellwoman Original is different: its capsule shell is made from bovine gelatine.

How many Wellwoman gummies should I take a day?
Three, chewed with your main meal. Vitabiotics advises not to exceed this and not to take them on an empty stomach.

Do Wellwoman gummies have side effects?
Taken as directed, most people tolerate them well. They contain iron, so keep them away from young children, and they contain vitamin K, so anyone on blood thinners should only take them on a doctor's advice. Avoid doubling up with another multivitamin. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, under medical supervision or have a thyroid condition, check with a doctor or pharmacist first.

Wellwoman gummies or Wellwoman Original?
The gummies suit people who prefer chewing to swallowing and want a vegan friendly option. Original suits people who want higher iron, zinc, B vitamins and magnesium in a single capsule and are happy with a gelatine shell.

Can I take Wellwoman gummies when trying for a baby?
They contain 400µg of folic acid, the amount the NHS recommends before conception and in early pregnancy. Speak to a pharmacist or GP about which product is right for you, as Vitabiotics advises.
