Where powders have a genuine edge is dose. A powder scoop can carry 5,000mg of collagen, 500mg of magnesium, or multi-gram doses of creatine. A gummy cannot physically hold these quantities. For nutrients requiring clinical doses, powders are the more practical vehicle. For comprehensive multi-nutrient formulas at standard daily amounts, gummies have no meaningful disadvantage.

Which Format Do People Actually Stick To?

This is where the debate stops being theoretical. Compliance research consistently shows significantly higher daily adherence with gummies compared to powders, tablets and capsules. The reasons are not complicated. Gummies require no preparation. They taste good. They fit into any routine without disruption. Powders require a decision every single morning: do I have the shaker? Is the powder in my bag? Do I have time to mix this?

Six months of consistent gummy use will outperform the most sophisticated powder stack that gets abandoned after week three. Consistency is not a soft benefit. It is the primary driver of whether any supplement delivers results at all.

The Value Gap the Supplement Industry Doesn't Want to Talk About

Premium powders cost £70 to £100 per month. That price reflects dose density, brand positioning, and in many cases significant marketing spend rather than ingredient cost. A well-formulated gummy at a third of the price, with transparent ingredient disclosure and a compliance rate powders can't match, delivers more total value for most UK adults.
